The Fire by Night Series

Long ago, the Living God broke the shackles of a million slaves.

And He did not do it quietly.

Israel has been enslaved in Egypt for generations.

From a burning bush, God spoke to Moses, the man who would lead them to freedom.

Then the LORD said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey…” EXODUS 3:7-8a

The Fire by Night series is the story of three teens on that journey. Hazel is a runaway Israelite slave in need of redemption. Tafne is an Egyptian noble incurably ill and unloved from birth. Samuel is a man of unbreakable spirit, torn from his family in Moses’ clan and made prisoner in Tafne’s own house. From the lush riverbanks of Egypt to the barren desert wilderness, these three will discover the heart of the Great I AM, the God of Ages Past. He alone will lead them to love, courage, and redemption—and He will lead them with miracles and with fire.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people. EXODUS 13:21-22

The Fire by Night Series is currently in progress and awaiting an opportunity for publication.

Book 1: Until Our Shackles Fall

Hazel is breathtakingly beautiful, born an Israelite slave. Tafne is a daughter of Egyptian nobility, born cursed with an incurable illness. When one horrendous day compels Hazel to run for her life, she flees to Tafne’s aid. Swearing themselves to secrecy, the two create a new identity for Hazel as Iris of Memphis.

Three years pass when the infamous traitor Moses returns to Egypt with an outrageous demand for Pharaoh: that the Israelite slaves leave to worship their own God, Yahweh. Pharaoh’s denial ushers in devastating plagues upon the land. As Egypt’s precious gods are shattered beneath the hand of Yahweh, Tafne and Iris find themselves caught in the most earth-shaking war Egypt has ever seen. Thrust on a journey of love, courage, and redemption, both are faced with decisions that will alter their lives forever.
